About Me
My musical journey began at the age of five at the old Funan Mall, long before it became the modern complex it is today.
In one of the display windows stood a charming pink child-sized upright piano. I was instantly captivated by it and asked my parents for piano lessons, even though I had no idea what a piano really was.
What first caught my eye as what felt like a life-sized Barbie toy became the beginning of a lifelong passion for music.
I am a classically trained pianist and hold a Bachelor of Music (Honours) from LASALLE College of the Arts, where I studied under
Mr. Arkadiusz Bialak and Ms. Yew Jia Lin.
Over the past 20 over years, I have had the privilege of teaching students from as young as four to as old as 79. Working with such a wide range of ages has given me a deep understanding of how people learn at different stages of life, allowing me to tailor my teaching to each student's individual needs.
I began my teaching career at Yamaha Music School Asia after successfully completing a rigorous audition and interview process.
I had started giving one-to-one classical piano lessons while I was still a student, and that was where my journey teaching children truly began.
I'll never forget my very first student- a five-year-old who cried throughout the lesson. As a 17-year-old new teacher, I was absolutely terrified! Thankfully, after many years of experience, I can happily say those tearful first lessons are now a thing of the past.
My musical training has taken me through both solo and chamber performances, enriching my understanding of music
as both a performer and educator.
One of the greatest joys of teaching is watching my students grow- not only in their piano playing, but also in confidence, discipline, and discovering the styles of music they genuinely enjoy.
Music has given me so much, and it is a privilege to pass that gift on to others. My goal is to nurture every student's unique potential, helping them build a strong musical foundation and develop the skills to experience the lifelong joy of playing the piano.
